UBL UK is committed to ensuring our customers are reunited with any accounts or funds which they may have forgotten or lost. If you believe you may have an old dormant account with UBL UK, we can check these details for you and reactivate these accounts, as we want to reunite you with your money and any interest it has earned.

If you think you still have an account with us

If you've held an account with us in the past and think you may still have accounts with us, we can do our best to find and reactivate these for you.

Before you begin, try and get hold of the following information about your UBL UK account. This will help speed up your search:

  • Old bank statements
  • Old passbooks
  • Any other correspondence from us
  • Any other information relating to your account

Starting the reactivation process

There are several ways to begin the tracing process:

  • Call us on 0121 753 6000 or our Mayfair branch, London, where a member of staff will be able to talk you through what needs to be done.
  • Visit www.mylostaccount.org.uk to submit an electronic account tracing form online. This is an official site set up by the British Bankers Association (BBA), the Building Societies Association (BSA) and National Savings and Investments (NS&I) to reunite you with accounts which may have been lost from multiple banks and building societies.
  • Download a copy from the above link and send it directly to us at:

UBL UK
2 Brook Street
London
W1S 1BQ

If you do contact us by phone or visit our Mayfair branch, please have to hand any old passbooks, statements or other information related to the account you're trying to find. You'll also need to bring along to the branch some identification, like a passport or driver’s license.

About the dormant account reclamation scheme

We participate in the unclaimed assets scheme established under the Dormant Bank and Building Societies Act 2008. The purpose of the scheme is to enable money in dormant accounts (which means balances in accounts that have been inactive or dormant for 15 years or more) to be distributed for the benefit of the community, while protecting the rights of customers to reclaim their money.

Under the scheme, we may transfer balances of dormant accounts to Reclaim Fund Limited (RFL). RFL is a not-for-profit reclaim fund which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

If we transfer the balance of your account to RFL, you will have against RFL whatever right to payment of your balance you would have had against us if the transfer had never happened. However, we will remain responsible for managing all aspects of the customer relationship with you and for handling all payment claims (which we will do on behalf of RFL).

Both we and RFL participate in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The transfer by us to RFL of your balance will not adversely affect any entitlement you have to compensation from the FSCS.
